Samsung has started rolling out the stable version of its Android 16-based One UI 8 to more devices. The rollout is now live for the Galaxy Wide 8 in South Korea. It is also available for the Galaxy A35 in select global markets.

Update for Galaxy Wide 8

The Galaxy Wide 8 is the latest model in Samsung’s Korean lineup to receive the new software. Users in the region are getting firmware version M166SKSU3BYI8. This brings the full set of One UI 8 features for this device.

While the Wide 8 name is specific to South Korea, the same phone is sold globally under different branding. In most markets, it is known as the Galaxy M16. In some regions, it is offered as the Galaxy F16.
That means the stable One UI 8 should be on its way to M16 and F16 units very soon. As usual, the rollout will be in phases. This means that not all units will get the update at the same time.

Like other One UI releases, availability will expand to additional countries in the coming weeks as Samsung widens the rollout.

By rolling out One UI 8 to both the Galaxy Wide 8 and the Galaxy A35, Samsung is showing its commitment to keeping users updated, no matter the price bracket.

How to Check for the Update

  • If you have one of these phones, there should be a prompt for you to update your device. If you have not received this prompt, no need to fear. Just follow the steps below
  • Open Settings on your Samsung phone
  • Scroll down and tap Software update
  • Wait while the phone checks for updates
  • If an update is available, tap download and install
  • If no update is found, you’ll see a message saying the software is up to date

One UI 8 stable

Samsung finished September 2025 by releasing its new One UI 8 update. The company was very busy at the end of the month sending out this software to millions of Samsung phone users around the world. Surprisingly, Samsung didn’t stick to its original plan.

The company said many phones would get the update in October, but it started sending One UI 8 to these phones in September instead. A lot of different phone models got the update earlier than expected. On September 29th, many popular Samsung phones got the update. This included the Galaxy S23 phones and the S23 FE.

The foldable phones from 2023 also started getting the big upgrade, but not everyone will get it at once – it will happen slowly over time.

Right now, One UI 8 is available in South Korea for these phones: Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are also getting Android 16, along with the Tab S10 tablets and some Galaxy A phones.

These phones just got the new update:

  • Galaxy S23 series
  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy Tab S10 series
  • Galaxy A36
  • Galaxy A26
  • Galaxy A55
  • Galaxy A35
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy M36 5G (Jump4)

The company plans to send the update to more countries starting October 2nd. Most phones are already getting One UI 8 in South Korea. People in other places should expect to get it at the beginning of next month.
If you’re waiting for the One UI 8 update, you can check the official release dates on Samsung’s website. If you already have Samsung’s Android 16 update, you’re probably busy trying out all the new features in the software.
