Alert: Bad People Are Using Fake Links to Lock Galaxy Phones
Fake peoples are tricking Galaxy phone users with fake links about new phone software. These tricks make users give away their phone login information without knowing it. Then the bad people lock their phones from far away. This problem happened because many users don’t know about the trick. The company also didn’t warn people enough. The special test software is only available in six countries, but news about it shows up everywhere online.
People who know a lot about Galaxy phones understand that the test software is hard to get. But many regular users don’t know this. Bad people are targeting these users with fake links to steal their account information.
The bad people are stealing login details through a phone feature called SmartThings that fills in passwords automatically. They use special links with an “Agree” button that steals your login information without asking for extra security checks.
The scammers found a way to get into accounts without needing things like fingerprints, face scans, or security codes. Once they get into your account, they can lock your phone completely. If this happens to you, you won’t be able to use your Galaxy phone at all. The phone becomes useless, and the only way to fix it is to erase everything on it. This means you’ll lose all your photos, messages, and other information that wasn’t saved somewhere else.
Reports show that the scammers are mainly targeting users in Romania and Vietnam who don’t know about this trick. The company should use its official websites and social media to warn people and tell them which countries can actually get the test software.
This year, the One UI 8 test software is only available in Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US. It’s only for the newest Galaxy S25 phones. Which phones can get the test software depends on your country, your phone company, and your specific phone model.
The only real way to sign up for the test software is through the official app called “Members.” There is no other way to sign up, and the company never sends links for signing up. If you see any links like this, don’t click on them and warn others about the trick.
